Frequently Asked Questions
Who should take a class from Survival Safety Services?
Both medical professionals and persons not associated with the medical industry could take courses with us. Medical professionals may be required to take courses by the institution they work for. Non-medical personnel often take courses to become more knowledgeable in CPR, AED’s, and First Aid. Everyone can be trained to learn how to save a life. There is no age limit to participate, however in order to be certified a person must be able to pass a written, multiple-choice test and demonstrate certain skills discussed in the class.
How do I sign up for a class?
To sign up for a class you must either: send an email to [email protected], or call me at 801-864-1028.
You can take a 1 on 1 private class or arrange for a group class. The instructor does not arrange the groups.
For a 1 on 1 class, the instructor and student arrange a time and place to hold the class, according to the student's schedule. This option is ideal for people who work full-time or who have otherwise limited schedules.
For a group class, students can arrange their own time and place to hold the class. If there are 10 people or more, each student will save $5 on their certification.
How do I pay for classes?
You can pre-pay for a class by credit card over the phone. Survival Safety Services is very conscious of protecting information and we never store any personal information. We use the Square app to process credit cards.
You can also pay with cash on the day of the class, prior to the start of the class.
If your employer is going to pay for your class, you may give the appropriate person the number 801-864-1028 and they can pay over the phone.
Please make sure that you ask for a receipt if you need one.
How far are you willing to travel?
Our boundaries for travel currently go from Provo to Layton, Utah. We also go from Magna to Park City, Utah. If you are outside those boundaries and need the instructor to travel to you, there will be a small fee of $10.00 to help with fuel costs.
What do I need to bring and wear to class?
All of the class materials will be provided for you, included in the price. You will receive a workbook and the certification card. You will want to bring a pen to take notes with.
Wear comfortable clothing that is modest. You will be asked to perform CPR and other related skills, so you will be kneeling or sitting on the floor.
As always, please let the instructor know if you need accommodations.
